ABOUT

Printmaker, designer, maker, brewer, photographer and chef, I live in Brooklyn, NY. Growing, cooking and sharing food has always been an important part of my life. My hope is to provide recipes for clean, slow, and healthy living and to educate people about the food they eat.

 

For me, learning to cook has been quite a journey. Growing up, the center of the house was the kitchen. For my family it was, and still is, an important part of spending time together. The experience of preparing a meal as a family and then enjoying it together is something very special. Living on my own, I experimented with different foods and with how different foods made me feel. I continue to investigate what a balanced diet means for me. We are what we eat! Food choices make big difference not only in the taste of the food but most importantly the way it makes us feel. I am a believer in healing through food.

 

The name sprout and bean is a nod to the fabulous Joanna Newsom. It also describes my food philosophy; enjoying the whole process, from sprout to bean, to cooking and finally enjoying it with the people we love.
